Run an online store without sourcing the products, without shipping the products and without managing anyone!

November 9th, 2006

Build a Niche StoreSound too good to be true?  Well it’s not.  Read on and I’ll explain.

Have you ever wanted to do something online but have not been able to find the product to sell or known how to sell it or had the capital to set up an online store or simply just been overwhelmed by everything you thought yu had to do to get online?  Well, good news, now there is a solution to your problem available.

There are many products that promise overnight riches and sure they can produce overnight riches if you do what you are told.  The truth is that a lot of work, an awful lot of work has to be put in the make any headway in making a significant income online.  Build a Niche Store, does not promise overnight riches, but does provide an excellent method for starting an online store without ever touching a product.  The key phrase is Niche Store.  In fact, in internet marketing, the key to any success is find your niche market.

Once you have your niche market, using Build a Niche Store will enable you to direct your website visitors towards buying and thereby creating you an income without lifting a finger in organising the delivery of the products.

How does it work?
Simple really.  Build a Niche Store builds a niche store online from over 25 Million products available on eBay.  Then when someone registers, bids or buys a product through your site you get a commission.  That’s it.  And because you have a niche market you can offer targeted products that are of greater interest to your visitors and they are much more likely to buy.

See my series of how I get on using at on The Children Webmag where you can get free hosting for trying out your Build a Niche Store.

Dunstable.tv

June 5th, 2006

I wanted to get this web site - www.dunstable.tv - up & running about a year ago but it has taken until now. In some ways, that’s good because I have seen a lot and changed my mind a lot about what a website fro Dunstable should do. Dunstable seems to be a forgotten town in South Bedfordshire. Repeatedly proven by the fact the publications I see for Bedfordshire that not only forget some events going on in Dunstable but seem to systematically ignore every event going on in Dunstable. And this is while at the same time including events in Luton, Leighton Buzzard, Bedford and numerous small villages around Bedfordshire. So why is Dunstable so ignored. I am not an expert in this area - I just live here - so I shall not speculate but instead try to fix it. After all that is my nature. Hypothetical speculation is OK for a while but mostly achieves nothing. Getting on with a solution is much more productive.

And that is where www.dunstable.tv comes in. A website that collates all the events relevant to Dunstable & South Bedfordshire. Then communicates it to everyone in Dunstable who want to know.

With every town portal comes advertising - someone’s got to pay. And with such a hyper targetted audience, businesses of Dunstable will struggle to find a better advertising opportuninty than on www.dunstable.tv. See the advertising section for more details. Some of the options are free and there is no catch. That’s because I want this to be of real value to Dunstable and not a remote town portal like all the others.

Go and see www.dunstable.tv and support Dunstable by subscribing to the free events newsletter.

Joint Solutions website

March 29th, 2006

Joint Solutions is an Milton Keynes Osteopath and Sports Clinic. They provide a whole raft of other services including acupuncture and reflexology. They have quite a reputation and I personally have heard some very good testimonials about the osteopaths and other sports therapists at Joint Solutions. So if you live in MK and are in need of an osteopath or related profession or service, take a look at their new website Joint Solutions Osteopath and Sports Clinic.

Multidropdrivers website

March 29th, 2006

Multidropdrivers is another website developed for Central Couriers. Central Couriers are expanding into a nationwide parcel delivery company - Parcel Wagon. Consequently they are recruiting for parcel delivery drivers across the whole of the UK. But these people are to be business owners. So instead of buying a courier franchise or parcel delivery franchise you really should take a look at what is being offered by Parcel Wagon first. Take a look at the Multidropdrivers website now.

Health and Saftety Software and Risk Assessment Software

March 12th, 2006

A very quick post to highlight a small experiment. After reading of an idea from Eric Giguere I thought I’d give it a go. He suggested a targetted one page website with Adsense. My site is about Health and Safety Software and Risk Assessment Software. It is simply a one page but I hope useful introduction into the points to consider when choosing a software system for computerising your health and safety or risk assessment needs. You can find it at Health and Safety Software.

Children Webmag

February 28th, 2006

It’s that time of the month again when the Children Webmagpublishes another raft of articles on all aspects of child care. This is my 2nd month now and their will be another round of changes implemented. This time their will be cosmetic improvements to make it look nicer. But the real aim is to make it easier to navigate, to encourage users to read more articles, make it easier for the search engines to index and understand the site and ultimately get more people coming to the site to create more revenue through Google Adsense.

After just one month of website publishing I’ve learnt a lot and if you are looking at dabbling in website publishing have a look at www.websitepublisher.com for some good help. You should also read Google’s own help on optimising your ad positioning. I’m not making a fortune but the click through rates (CTR) are OK, and the revenue per thousand page views (eCPM) is OK too. The key to success is improving the visitors.

I’ve increased the visitors over 25% so far. But that is nothing really. It needs increase 25x not 25%! So how am I going to do that - good question. I’m starting with enables RSS feeds and have the site registered with www.feedburner.com. The next much more important step is to improve the sites structure and search engine readibility.

I have Google sitemaps enabled, but the structure of the site in Feb is terrible. In March, the category and sections will become clearly visible. But the actual descriptions for these categories is still missing and must be added ASAP.

Of course, now aarticles stay put rather than being put into an archive, so over time the Children webmag will build upa its article database in various sections and categories and hopefully become more of an authority on the internet for anything to with child care

Downs Directory In Dunstable

February 9th, 2006

I thought I posted about the Downs Directory already. This is a simple site and is actually based on Joomla. It is bit of an overkill but I wanted to use the email marketing component ANJEL and I needed a simple CMS for the client too.

How this client came into contact with me is through networking. Local businesses doing business with local businesses. The internet is a powerful tool but at the end of the day people like to do business with real people that meet with face-2-face.

If you would like to more about adverting in Dunstable then you should take a look at the Downs Directory.

If you would like to know more about networking in Dunstable then take a look my list of networking groups in the local Dunstable and surrounding area.

Are you continually promoting your website

February 9th, 2006

Your website should be part of the overall activity of marketing your business. When you advertise your business in a magazine, on a billboard or even on the radio you tell people about it and they look or listen out for it. You’ve no doubt done the same with your website and told people you know to take a look. Adverts last a short while and so you only tell people to look for short while. Websites last forever. So guess what - you can and should go on telling people about your website. But you don’t want to be telling the same people again and again or they’ll soon tire of you. So here’s a tip and a reminder. You need to look out for new people to tell – but how?

I am not talking about telling individuals now, but telling other websites. When your website was built, Google, Yahoo, MSN, DMOZ and many other search engines where all told about your website. Search engines rank your website based on 2 key factors – what’s on your website (we’ve already done that) and who’s pointing to your website – and that’s what I am talking about now.

So who do you deal with in business that you could get to point at your website. Just ask them to add a link on their website that points to your website. It could be suppliers, customers, partners. Best of all it doesn’t cost you a penny.

And one final tip – when they add the link, make sure the text that you click on describes your business. So for instance, a link to Rugged Rhino is much better written as small business web design or web design in Dunstable than Rugged Rhino because that is what we do best at Rugged Rhino.

So armed with this useful information (and you’ve no doubt thought of several possible links already) you can tell several websites and consequently many more people about your website. And if those people you’re thinking of can’t update their website then please feel free to forward them my details. In fact, please forward this to those you know with a website who are not promoting it as they should.
